Valley Forge wasn’t just hardship. It was the forge of victory to come.

Kingdom Friend,

Thank you for agreeing steadfastly in prayer! This week: we pray that our faith for America will be forged through the struggle.

May light and peace be yours this Christmas season (Luke 1.79). I pray that you will be satisfied, enriched, and positioned well for ‘25!

Valley Forge was a day’s march from Philadelphia and the British.

On Christmas night in 1776, General George Washington led 2,400 Continental Army soldiers across the ice-choked Delaware River in a bold and risky move.

The daring operation would become a turning point in the Revolutionary War. See the last newsletter.

The following winter was one of the bleakest time in the war for independence. In late 1777, with British forces occupying Philadelphia, Washington chose Valley Forge—just a day's march from the city—as the winter camp for his troops.

The soldiers were undersupplied and underfed. At least a third had no shoes, leaving blood in the snow.

Of the 12,000 men encamped at Valley Forge, historians estimate that between 2,000 and 3,000 died.

Valley Forge was more than just survival as an army—it was a turning point. Washington used those months to train and transform his army into a disciplined, unified force.

Leaders like Baron von Steuben, a Prussian military officer, brought expertise, shaping the Continental Army into a force ready to fight.

Washington’s prayer is often viewed as a turning point in the Revolutionary War.

He was a man of deep faith. Washington believed God placed him in his role and that victory was assured with God’s guidance and blessing.

He frequently called for days of prayer and fasting, urging the nation to seek God’s help in times of crisis.

By May, the soldiers were encouraged with news of the French-American alliance.

Jesus, you are the originator and finisher of our faith. FORGE OUR FAITH FOR YOUR PURPOSE FOR AMERICA. Toughen us. Train us. Steel our resolve. Help us to do all that we can do … then with you, all things are possible.

"You know that the TESTING OF YOUR FAITH PRODUCES STEADFASTNESS. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing" (James 1.3-4 ESV).

Let’s CONTEND IN FAITH FOR A SOCIETAL RESET. Our nation has been moving swiftly toward a progressive agenda, edging closer to Marxist ideals. Many Americans now see the dangers. Father, we intercede for a PIVOT TO TRUE JUSTICE.
