Back to basics: why the judiciary must stay in its lane

“The judiciary... has no influence over either the sword or the purse... and can take no active resolution whatever.” —Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 78

The Founders were intentional: liberty depends on the separation of powers.

⚖️ Hamilton’s vision was clear. Judges interpret law—they don’t wield it. They don’t command armies or control the treasury. And they definitely don’t direct the Executive.

But in today’s America, we’re seeing an imbalance. Some judges seem eager to step into arenas that belong to the presidency—like national security, immigration, and executive decision-making.

That’s not how this was designed to work.

The American system was carefully structured—three distinct branches, each checking the others. An overreaching judiciary threatens that balance. 🚨

We need a clear reset. Judges who are wise. Humble. Grounded in the Constitution. And willing to stay in their God-given lane.

Let’s pray for this reset

This week, we pray that American justice will return to the basics—as designed by the brilliance of American Founders.

🧬 We can draw on America's founding prayers, covenants, documents, and early experiences as "prayer architecture" for today. Adapt the prayer language below to your prayer voice as the Holy Spirit leads.

🦅 Righteous Judge of all the earth, we bring our judicial system before You. You are the Lawgiver, Judge, and King—perfect in wisdom and justice.

Raise up judges who fear You, walking humbly and wisely as stewards of justice—not seekers of power.

Restrain those who overreach and cleanse our courts. Remove those who twist the law for personal gain, agenda, or ideology.

Restore order in our government, preserving the distinct roles of Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. Reestablish the boundaries set by our founders, in alignment with Your truth.

We pray for a judicial reformation that upholds the Constitution and Your eternal justice. 📖 “But he who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God” (2 Samuel 23:3 NKJV).

🦅 Father, thank You for strengthening Attorney General Bondi and the Trump administration to confront judicial activism. Bring lasting reform to our courts so that judges uphold the law with integrity, resisting the pressure to overreach. 📖"When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers" (Proverbs 21.15 ESV).

🦅 Thank you, Father, for covering the president, cabinet leaders, and Elon Musk with Your sovereign protection. Shield them from harm and death. Fill them with Your health and strength. 📖“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91.1 NKJV).
