As protests and rioting erupt this week in Los Angeles, protests are rapidly spreading across the nation …
What began as outrage over federal immigration raids has grown into a broader wave of unrest, exposing deep fractures and radically different views about the future of America.
In 1776, Samuel Adams warned of a deeper threat:
“A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy.”
In Federalist No. 21, Alexander Hamilton emphasized the responsibility of American citizens:
“The very idea of the power and the right of the people to establish government presupposes the duty of every individual to obey the established government.”
In his Farewell Address in 1796, George Washington saw a challenge:
“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion.”

Righteousness, peace, and joy
🦅 “Scoffers set a city aflame, But wise men turn away wrath” (Proverbs 29:8 NKJV). Pour out your wisdom on our nation, Father. Turn away the wrath of our Adversary.
🦅 “The kingdom of God … righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14.17 ESV). We pray for these characteristics in our country via your Kingdom, Jesus.
🦅 Father, we acknowledge that no human government can endure when righteousness and justice are abandoned. We ask You to reestablish your throne in America. Cause your righteousness rise within hearts. Cause justice to shape our streets, courts, and policies. Heal the fractures in our nation. Pour out your Spirit to restrain violence, correct injustice, and draw us to the higher life of your Kingdom.

🦅 Pray for protection and beauty to be upon the 250th anniversary and parade for the U.S. Army this Saturday, June 14 in Washington, D.C.
