America’s Forge

⚒️ America’s story began on the anvil of prayer—and it continues today.

America was not just founded — she was forged in prayer. From the earliest covenants and consecrations, God’s providence was invoked to shape a people for His purpose in the world.

We have tremendous potential in God to partner with Him via prophetic prayer—to shape and steer history toward His redemptive plan.

When Paul spoke in Athens, he said “God determined the times set for nations and the exact places where they should live — that they should seek Him and find Him” (Acts 17:26–27).

Our founders seemed to understand this. During the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia (1787), when debates raged and progress stalled, Benjamin Franklin stood and called the assembly to prayer—reminding them that their work must align with His guidance …

“I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth — that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?”

Franklin’s appeal ignited the delegates to pray. It was an inflection point in the convention and the forging of the Constitution. That spirit must be revived in our generation.

We pray that Americans will seek God again. That our national identity will be awakened and strengthened to its redemptive destiny.

Did you know that Scripture reveals that nations will exist in the Millennium, and even in the New Heavens and New Earth? God’s works never cease. America has a role to play now and just maybe in the Age to Come.

We can draw on America's founding prayers, covenants, documents, and early experiences as "prayer architecture" for today. Adapt the prayer language below to your prayer voice as the Holy Spirit leads.

⚖️ The government shutdown has ended. Lord, cause our leaders to put people over politics. Grant those in authority wisdom from above—pure, peace-loving, considerate, and full of mercy (James 3:13–18). Expose and remove corruption.

⚔️ There’s growing division within the populist movement since the passing of Charlie Kirk, a master coalition-builder who united reform-minded voices. There is friendly fire and fragmentation—oddly, over issues like anti-Semitism and replacement theology. Pray that God would grant clear discernment to see the real spiritual and cultural battle lines.

🎄 As we approach the trifecta of holidays—Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s—let’s pray that Americans will pause, reflect, and truly seek God. May hearts turn from from self to the Savior. Holy Spirit, work in this season to stir and renew.

🛡️ Sovereign protection of our leaders. Father, we invoke your hand of protection over leaders in our nation. Foil the plans of lawlessness.

🔥 As you pray, tune in to the Father’s heart. Resonate with the sharp prayer edges he surfaces in the Spirit. Leave “white space” in prayer for improvisation.
