Kingdom Trailblazers: the First Thanksgiving legacy

In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of “Thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwells in heaven.”

This declaration came nearly 250 years after the first Thanksgiving feast—a three-day celebration shared by 90 Native Americans and 53 Pilgrims.

After a harsh first year in America, their prayers and hard work led to a bountiful harvest. They gathered to celebrate and give thanks.

The Pilgrims weren’t just settlers; they were KINGDOM TRAILBLAZERS.

Before stepping ashore, they signed the Mayflower Compact, declaring their mission: “For the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith.”

This wasn’t about personal gain—it was a quest for religious freedom and a higher purpose.
