George Washington — affection for your country

A holy affection for America

George Washington’s quote is from his Farewell Address in 1796 at the end of his 2nd presidential term. Washington emphasized the importance of national unity and pride in being American.

God is love. Everything that comes from him is love-based. All of creation is “coded” with love. So things work in their best state when authentic love is present. When we live a love lifestyle, we harmonize with God’s design in all things.

To political leaders: you can’t authentically lead what you don’t authentially love. When you love yourself most — when you adore naked power, venerate money, and worship dark sex — then there is chaos and decline in what you say you lead. The people you “lead” suffer.

We can draw on America's founding prayers, covenants, documents, and early experiences as "prayer architecture" for today. Adapt the prayer language below to your voice as the Holy Spirit guides you.

⭐️ Dedicated love for our nation. Heavenly Father, instill within us a deep and consecrated love for America, rooted in the understanding of Christ's ultimate authority and the advancement of His kingdom.

⭐️ United in patriotism. Lord, fill the hearts of all Americans, both native-born and immigrants, with a genuine love for this country. Purge our land of hatred, and may only those who cherish and seek the well-being of America be drawn to its shores. Remove those who will not love this land.

⭐️ Leaders with true devotion. Father, raise up leaders who are truly committed to the well-being of this nation. Diminish the influence of those who prioritize self-interest or a vision of a weakened, globalist America. May our leaders be guided by love and integrity.

Father, we believe in our heart that we have received, and we count it done in faith. We are grateful. Amen — may it be established.

💓 Father, we lift up the presidential debate next Tuesday, September 10 at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. We invoke your Lordship over this event — may only light, transparency, and truth prevail. We bind darkness and deception.

💓 Pray for the integrity of national, state, and local elections. Insist in faith that the election will occur this fall and that nothing will stop it. Stand in faith against political violence.

💓 Steadfastly pray that God will sway the judgment of the American body politic and that his design will be realized on American soil as it is in heaven.
